Taraba Gov Creates Ministry For Tertiary Education

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu kefas has created a new Ministry for Tertiary Education in the State.

This is contained in a Press Release signed by the Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps and made available to Journalists in Jalingo, the State capital on Friday.
The Governor has therefore directed the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Professor Nicholas Namesan to oversee the new Ministry pending the nomination and approval of a substantive Commissioner for the Ministry by the Taraba State House of Assembly.
The Release equally directed Dr Ahmed Kara, Permanent Secretary in charge of the Health Services Management Board to supervise the activities of the New Ministry pending the posting of a new Permanent Secretary.
The Release directed the affected officers and ministries to give immediate effect to the Governor’s directives.
Echo Express gathered that the latest moves by the Governor may be part of the efforts of the administration to tackle the numerous challenges confronting Tertiary institutions in the state including the current total and Indefinite Strike by Lecturers at the Taraba State University.
