Taraba Gov Charges NYSC Members to Contribute to State’s Development

The Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas on Friday charged members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to contribute to the development of the State and Nigeria at large.

Kefas made this call during the official opening and swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream II orientation course for Corps Members deployed to serve in Taraba State.
Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS) Barr. Gebon Timothy Kataps , Kefas urged the NYSC members to utilize their skills and knowledge to contribute to the growth and development, emphasizing that the State Government sees the NYSC members as agents of positive change and expects them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their duties.
He highlighted the importance of the NYSC scheme in promoting national unity, integration, discipline, and contributing to the accelerated growth and development of the Nation’s economy.
“I urge you all to utilize this opportunity to study any of the sectors and contribute immensely to its development, the State Government sees you all as agents of positive change, and you are thus expected to rise up to the challenge by remaining disciplined, focused, and committed to your duties at all times.” he said.
While commending the Management and collaborating Agencies for flagging off the orientation course on a sound note, he assured the NYSC members that his administration is committed to supporting and assisting the NYSC scheme to fulfill its objectives.
Speaking earlier, Taraba State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Ella Aji Williams noted that the orientation course is designed to equip Corps Members with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute to the development of their communities.
The Coordinator expressed appreciation to the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, for his unwavering support and assistance to the NYSC scheme.
He also urged the Corps Members to participate actively in all camp events, including military drills, camp administration, and committee activities.
“I urge you to exhibit a great measure of dedication, enthusiasm, and responsibility, for it is through collective efforts and collaboration that you can truly contribute your quota to the accelerated Development of our dear country Nigeria,” he said.
