Taraba Flood: Several Farmlands Destroyed in Bali LGA

Over One Hundred Farm Lands and household have been affected by Flood Disaster in some communities of Bali Local Government area of Taraba State.
These was brought to the fore during an assessment carried out by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency SEMA.
Speaking during the assessment in Mayo Kam Community of Bali Local Government Area, the Head of Operations NEMA office in Yola, Mr Ladan Ayuba, who was represented by a Principal officer, Yusuf Ibi, sympathised with the victims and urged them to be patient as the Federal Government is making efforts to assist them.
He assured that the Federal Government will intervene by providing relief materials to alleviate the challenges faced by the Victims.
In his remarks, the Taraba State Commissioner of Special Duties, Humanitarian Services and Regional Development, Hon Saviour Noku who was represented by the Director of SEMA, Sani Maiskwati promised to forward the assessment report to the government for proper actions.
Speaking on behalf of the victims, the Chairman of Bali local government Council, Aboki Dauda Dakka, thanked NEMA and Governor Agbu Kefas for having the people at heart.
He mentioned some of the areas affected by the flood to include Mayo Kam, Pamanga and Dakka among others.
The Chairman called on the residents of Bali Local Government Area to pray and support the administration of Dr Agbu Kefas to succeed.
The team also visited Namnai community in Gassol Local Government Area, Moyo-ranewo in Ardo kola and Lau Local Government Area to ascertain the level of damages caused by the recent flood disaster in the area.
In his remarks the District Head of the Namnai in Gassol local government, Saliyu Musa appreciated the NEMA officials for the visit and informed them that the recent flood destroyed their farm Lands, bridge and that one person lost his life.
Musa Saliyu called on the Government to come to their aid by constructing the bridge in Namnai and Mayo Kam communities to cushion the difficulty faced by commuters.
