Taraba CSDP Board Holds Inaugural Meeting

The Newly Appointed Board Members of the Taraba State Agency for Community and Social Development Project TR CSDA have been charged to be committed in the Development of Rural Areas.

Chairperson of the Agency, Mrs Leah Oluseyi Solomon gave the charge while Speaking at the inaugural meeting of the board members in Jalingo.

The chairperson congratulated the board members on their new appointment’s, charging them to close ranks and work tirelessly to achieve the set goals.

Mrs Leah Oluseyi  saluted Governor Agbu kefas for appointing women into various key positions, stressing that Gender inclusion has been adhered to promising to justify the confidence reposed in them.

She said the CSDA is saddled with the responsibilities of serving humanity through initiatives that improve the health sector, education and access to portable drinking water for the rural populace.

She added that the vision of the Agency is to transform the lives of Taraba state citizens particularly those in rural areas by providing essential services that will promote their well being and bridge the Gap between urban and rural communities by ensuring everyone has access to basic necessities.

The chairperson assured that the agency will work closely with government agencies, Non Governmental organizations, community leaders and other stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise..

She added that the agency will implement robust mechanisms to prevent elite capture by ensuring that projects are designed and implemented to reach the intended beneficiaries by engaging community leaders, Civil Society organizations and other stakeholders to identify and address potential bottlenecks.

Earlier in his speech, the General Manager of the Agency Sakunga Galumje welcome the members and assured them of the necessary support and cooperation to succeeded.

He said the duties of the Agency is to identify the communities with challenges and tackle them for a better living.

The board members later went into a special session where they reviewed the activities of the agency.

The chairperson and her entourage also inspected the permanent site of the agency in Kona which is under construction.

The members were taking round by the General Manager of the Agency Sakunga Galumje where they were briefed on the level of work done so far.

In an interview shortly after the inspection visit, the chairperson promised to do everything possible for the completion of the work.

With the Inauguration of the board members, it is expected that the work will commence in earnest for the betterment of the rural communities.
