Taraba Council Chairman Calls For Demarcation of Chiefdoms

The Taraba State Government has been called upon to constitute a committee to demarcate chiefdoms to address complications and interferences.
The Chairman Bali Local Government Council in Taraba State, Hon Aboki Dauda who made the plea while speaking with our correspondent in Bali, said lack of proper boundaries between chiefdoms is creating more confusion among the traditional rulers in Bali Local Government Area in particular.
He said some traditional leaders are interfering on issues that do not belong to their domain, hence the need for Government to take proactive measures to address the situation.
Hon Aboki Dauda emphasised that most of the land disputes are happening as a result of misunderstandings of some traditional rulers who take advantage for their selfish gains.
He recalled that the recent land dispute at Sabon Dale in Bali Local Government area where some farmers were attacked and two people sustained injuries, was on called for.
He therefore called on the Taraba State Government to take drastic measures to avert a reoccurrence.
The Chairman called on farmers in the area not to take law into their hands, but to always channel their grievances to the appropriate authority for prompt action.
