Taraba Commissioner Visits Jalingo Green House, Praises Pace of Work

The Taraba State Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security, Prof Nicholas Namessan Oliver has expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the Taraba State Green House in Jalingo, the state capital.

Professor Nicholas Namessan Oliver who was speaking in an interview after inspecting the remodeled green house, said production would soon commence with the speed of work.

He said the green house has been upgraded with the use of high technology introduced by Governor Agbu Kefas including an open field which would be used to grow vegetables and the training of students and farmers.

The Commissioner assured the company handling the project, TSI Company Limited of Governor Agbu Kefas’s commitment to the revival and sustenance of the project in view of its economic importance to the State.

In his comments, the Managing Director of the Company, Haggai Hochman appreciated the support of Governor Agbu Kefas to the project.

On his part, the Chief Agronomist, Pam Jerry Dalyop revealed that the Green House will grow vegetables like tomatoes, green and yellow pepper, lettuce and cucumber among others through the use of the high technology introduced by the State Government.

The Commissioner was conducted round the nursery unit, cucumba, water reservoir,open field and others.
