Taraba COE Matriculates 1,218 Students

The Taraba State College of Education Zing, has matriculated one thousand, two hundred and eighteen students for the 2024/2024 academic session.
Speaking at the 45th matriculation ceremony, the Provost of the Taraba State College, Zing, Professor Ejika Sambo charged the matriculants to be of good conduct and make effective use of the opportunity given to them to excel in their various courses of study.
Professor Ejika Sambo however warned the matriculated students against indulging in all forms of social vices which can jeopardize their academic pursuits, stressing that any student found wanting would be punished accordingly.
The Provost applauded Governor Agbu Kefas for providing an enabling environment for the management of the College to carryout its activities without any hitches.
Prof Ejika Sambo reaffirmed the determination of the College to impart sound knowledge and character in the students with a view to complementing the educational reforms of Governor Agbu Kefas.
He pledged the commitment of the College’s Management to pursue vigorously the educational initiatives of the Governor which he said has placed Taraba State on the global map.
The Provost notified the matriculants that the federal government has gazzetted ‘Dual Mode’ in all colleges of education in Nigeria, a system that would allow the colleges to run National Certificate in Education, NCE and degree programmes without affiliating to any institution, which will soon come to effect in the College.
He called on staff of the College to support and guide the new students to actualize their goals of becoming professional teachers.
Highlights of the ceremony include the administration of matriculating oath on the students as well as cultural performances by various ethnic groups.
