TARABA: CJ swears-in Muhammad as Notary Public of Nigeria

The Chief Judge (CJ) of Taraba State, Hon. Justice Joel F. Agya has sworn-in Barrister Nasiru Muhammad of Nasiru Muhammad & Associates (ABU-HABEEB CHAMBERS), Jalingo as Notary Public of Nigeria.

Our Correspondent gathered that five other Barristers were also sworn-in by Justice Agya as Notaries Public of Nigeria.
Speaking, during the swearing-in ceremony, held Monday at the High Court of Justice, Complex in Jalingo, the CJ charged the newly sworn-in Notaries to always uphold the ethics of the legal profession, describing it as a noble one.
While commending the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice K.M.O. Kekere-Ekun for the appointment of Taraba legal practitioners as Notaries Public of Nigeria, Justice Agya remarked that the day’s event marked both a recognition of competence and a call to a higher responsibility within the legal profession.

He further advised Bar. Muhammad and his colleagues that, the office of a Notary Public is one of trust, integrity, and global relevance.
“Notary act as an impartial witness to transactions, authenticate documents, and facilitate cross border dealings that rely on the credibility of our justice system.
Their seal and signature carry evidential weight not only within Nigeria but across jurisdiction”,
“For this reason, the appointment of a Notary is never routine, it’s a solemn investiture than demands impeccable character, sound judgment and unwavering adherence to ethical standards”, he added.
Expressing a high level of gratitude to God Almighty for the gift of life and successful swearing-in ceremony, Barrister Nasiru Muhammad during an interview with journalists shortly said, people came in their thousands to witness the ceremony.
Barrister Nasiru Muhammad further dedicated the honour, which he described as a prestigious achievements to their parents who according to him used their time, resources, among others to train them.

“We take the responsibility as a call to service, to humanity with all integrity. This is because, this prestigious appointment is an honour because there are many legal practitioners in this Country but very few of us were selected for the appointment”,
“We have nothing to say but to consider the honour as a call for more service”, Barrister Muhammad added.
