Taraba business tycoon lauds gov Kefas’ inclusive governance

A Taraba based business tycoon and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Uche Obi Investment, Nigeria Limited Taraba State, Hon Peter Uche Obi has commended the Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas for considering all tribes residing in the state in his appointment of cabinet members.

The business mugul gave this commendation in Jalingo while chatting with journalists on the recent mass appointments rolled out by the governor, where one of his tribe men, Chief Sylvester Nwuche, was considered in the appointments.
Uche Obi noted that the wisdom deployed by the governor in dishing out appointments across boards, irrespective of tribes, religious background and region, would enhance peaceful coexistence and strengthen the unity and bond among the different tribes existing in the state.
“I believe the governor wants to demonstrate to us that we all are one Nigeria. He needs to be commended for this wisdom. We have witnessed how his predecessors did same and it helped in no small measure.
“Myself was a beneficiary of this arrangement. I was once an adviser of the State Government and when Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku came in, he also appointed one of us and we worked together. This kinds of arrangements make everyone feel belong thereby, tightening up the bonds and unity of the people anywhere in this part of the world”. He stated
The business magnet and onetime adviser to the Taraba State Government, described Dr Agbu Kefas as a humble, dedicated and peace loving person whose giant strides have started transforming the state in just one year in office.
He encouraged Chief Sylvester Nwuche and the other appointees of the governor to bury their personal and selfish interests and key into the vision and agenda set up by the governor to enable him effectively deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
“I want to use this opportunity to encourage my brother, Chief Sylvester Nwuche and the other new appointees to know that it is only when you finish working that you go into harvest and start eating. So let them help the governor to work and after working, they will harvest and then start eating. By working I mean they should support the governor in all his good policies and mobilize all that is needed for him to execute the set agenda so that the people will feel the impacts.
“A situation where leaders sometimes become saboteurs and embark on stomach infrastructure when government assigned them to execute some policies that would benefit the generality of the people, would not be an appreciation to the governor on the good gesture he has extended to them.
“I have been in Taraba for the past 38 years now and what I have learnt is that most Tarabans who lay so much emphasis on issues of indigeneship, usually do little or nothing to move the state forward. Rather, they destroy the state by their dispositions and work tirelessly in chasing away those who come from far and near to help develop the state.
“I therefore, want to use this opportunity to encourage the new appointees of the governor to shun discrimination on the basis of tribalism or religion, all forms of sentimental mindset and embrace investors who come to contribute their quota towards developing the state. It right to know that it is not only the government of a state that develop a state and so should support the governor to create an enabling environment where NGOs and investors will feel comfortable and thrive well”. While expressing confidence in the government of Dr Agbu Kefas, the business baron, stated that Ibo people in the state would continue to support the governor not only because he has given one of them an appointment, but because they have seen him as somebody who is willing, capable and ready to transform the state as he exemplified within his first year in office
