Taraba: Bali LG Secretariat face renovations – Hon. Abdullahi

The Executive Chairman of Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State, Hon. Habila Bala Balasa, shortly after assumption of office one month ago, has hit the ground rolling, renovating some core edifices and facilities at the local government Secretariat in Bali.

Hon. Balasa has also laid the foundation of some new offices at the local government Secretariat which he promised to complete within his first 100 days in office.
The Vice Chairman of the Council, Hon. Ibrahim Sa’ad Abdullahi made the above statements before Journalists during an interview in Jalingo, the State capital.
Hon. Abdullahi further disclosed that what his boss really want to achieve, carrying out what he described as aggressive renovations at the local government Secretariat was to create a conducive working environment for workers of the local government.

Stating that the funds used in carrying out such renovations were meagre resources accrued as revenue by the local government, the Vice Chairman affirmed that revenues collected from the people must be judiciously used for the people.
“There’s no magic here. The fund being used by the Council was the money we generate as revenue from shop owners, market men and women, among others”,
“We can’t collect revenue from people and use same for our private use, no. The Money is meant for the people and we must use same for the people”
“This is the more reason why my boss, Hon. Balasa recently announced that all revenues generated will be directed strictly into the Local Government treasury”,
“This according to him, was to ensure transparency, proper financial management, accountability and effective utilization of funds for the development of the council”, he said.
The Vice Chairman however, told Reporters that he was in Jalingo to witness a wedding ceremony of a daughter to the deputy speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hamman Adama Abdulla.
Congratulating the newly wedded couple and appreciating God for the success of the wedding ceremony, Hon. Abdullahi prayed God to bless them abundantly.
“My message to them is that they should love one another and shouldn’t allow the third person to come between them. When they have issues, they should prayerfully settle the issues among themselves. I wish them the best of luck”, he added.
