Taraba APC Elects New State Executives At A Peaceful Consensus Congress

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State has elected new state executives through a consensus arrangement at its congress held at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo.

The peaceful exercise, conducted in line with the party’s constitution, ushered in a new leadership team ahead of the 2027 political season.
Alhaji Abubakar Bawa emerged as State Chairman, alongside Pastor Stephen Othaniel as Vice Chairman, Hon. Andeteramg Irarimam as Secretary, Hon. Aaron Artimas as Publicity Secretary, and Princess Margaret Mchivga as Women Leader, among others.
In his address, Governor Agbu Kefas congratulated the newly elected officials and commended party members and the congress committee for ensuring a smooth and peaceful process.
He urged the executives to promote unity, transparency, and grassroots engagement to strengthen the party’s structure.
“You have a responsibility to ensure the party remains stable and continues in government,” the governor said, while calling on members to support the new leadership.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman Abubakar Bawa thanked party members for the confidence reposed in him and the new executives.
He pledged to run an inclusive and fair administration.

“We will be fair to all members and work together to keep the APC strong across the state,” Bawa said, assuring members of his commitment to the party’s growth and cohesion.
The congress attracted party stakeholders, including former and serving public office holders, reflecting broad support for the new leadership.
With the successful conclusion of the exercise, the APC in Taraba State says it is repositioned to strengthen its grassroots presence and consolidate its political standing.
