Taraba ALGON boss, Hassan marks 1 year with impactful projects

The Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Taraba State Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan who doubles as the Executive Chairman of Jalingo local government area of the State has clocked one year in office.

Hassan took oath of office to pilot the affairs of Jalingo local government on 20th November, 2023 alongside 15 others from various area councils across the 3 senatorial zones of the State.
Knowing fully well that the  mandate given to him by the good people of Jalingo local government during the polls was to complement the efforts of the State Governor (Dr) Agbu Kefas whose mantra was to move the State forward, Hassan swung into action to demonstrate commitment to his duties and/or assignments which without delay, earned him the position to lead his colleagues as Chairman of their highly respected union, ‘Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON)’.
Some residents of Sintali Ward of the local government interviewed on the achievements recorded by Aminu Jauro Hassan for the past one year in office, described the projects he has so far executed as impactful saying they have direct bearings to the people.
Others said, they had high confidence and trust on the chairman’s credibility, owing to his performance while serving as acting Chairman of the Local Government and when he served the State as the Executive Secretary (ES), Taraba State Primary Health Care Development Agencies (TSPHCDA).
“We voted for Jauro massively during the election that brought him as our chairman because, we knew that he had the experience”,

“We are not celebrating his one year in office only because of his projects he executed and initiated for the people but we have seen him as a man that has the people at heart and again, his leadership styles of open door policy, despite religious, tribal and political affiliations”,
“Hon. (Dr.) Aminu Jauro Hassan is not only committed to the services of Jalingo people where he’s currently serving as the Executive Chairman, he’s also serving the chairmen of the 15 other local governments under the umbrella of ALGON”,
“He was also elected as the National Welfare officer, ALGON, the position that keeps him busy at the national level and also gets him in touch with other council chairmen across the country”, a source said.
Our Correspondent revealed that just recently, Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan represented the National President of ALGON Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and the Executive Chairmen of the 774 LGAs of Nigeria at a fiscal responsibility commission summit held at Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Coming down to some of the strides and projects executed by Hon Hassan with a view to developing the communities across the 10 Wards of Jalingo for the past one year.
The sectors of infrastructural development which comprised of road rehabilitation, Renovation and construction of lockup shops in local markets, provision and installation of boreholes to make water and sanitation affordable for the people, the sector of educational where scholarships were awarded for young men and women, the privileged persons in the society to enhance their educational pursuits.
Others are, donations of wheel chairs for the physically challenged persons, renovation of health care centers to enhance health care delivery services to the people.
Hon Aminu Jauro Hassan also collaborated with security agencies to ensure security of lives and property of the citizenry.

Agriculture and food security was not left out as he distributed fertilizers, seeds, and farming equipment to boost the productivity.
Aminu Jauro Hassan also commenced the construction of Women Development Centre at the local government Secretariat. This according to him will afford the council the opportunity to train dedicated women and youth in vocational skills, including tailoring, ICT, and other trades, that can foster self-reliance and entrepreneurship.
Speaking during a telephone conversation, Hassan applauded the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas for his transformative and developmental initiatives  in the State.
Calling on the people of the State to support the Governor to succeed, Hassan pledged rendering quality services to the people of the local government area with the best of his knowledge.
