Taraba ACReSAL Hands Over Solar Powered Borehole To Yorro LG

The Aro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes ACReSAL in Taraba State has officially handed over a Solar Powered Borehole in Pantisawa to the Yorro Local Government Council.
Addressing the community members at the handing over event, the Environmental Safeguard Officer,( ESO) of the Agency, Alhaji Dahiru Umar who represented the Project Coordinator, Dr Clement Yakubu Giwa explained that the borehole was constructed by the Taraba State Government in collaboration with ACReSAL as the leading entity to meet up with the demands of water supply to the people of Yorro Local Government Area.
He said today being 24/6/2025, Taraba ACReSAL is officially handing over the borehole to the Local Government and the community, saying they are now incharge of the borehole and its maintenance.
He commended the community on how they have been maintaining the borehole so far, urging them to continue with the in the overall benefit of the people.
Responding on behalf of the Chairperson of Yorro Local Government Council, Mrs Martina Andrew Anthony, the Vice Chairman, Hon Sani Adamu Mazang,appreciated the efforts of the State Government for listening to the plight of the community.
He thanked ACReSAL for ensuring that the project was successfully executed in their domain.
He assured that the Council and the community will ensure total maintenance of the borehole saying ” this is the only borehole that the community rely upon and they will not joke with it”.
He pleaded for provision of more boreholes in Yorro Local Government Area saying Yorro is big and has many communities.
He said the Council will always welcome Taraba ACReSAL in case it intends provide additional projects to the Yorro communities.
Highlights of the event was the signing of the handing over document and presentation of ACReSAL Calendars to the Local Government representative by the Taraba State Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Dr Clement Yakubu Giwa who represented by Alhaji Dahiru Umar.
