SWAN : North East VP Inaugurates Zonal Secretary in Jalingo

The North East Vice President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN Alhaji Kagama Amshi, Saturday inaugurated the newly appointed SWAN Zonal Secretary, Pastor Simon Danladi Atta.

The occasion took place at the NUJ Press Center Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, where the new SWAN North East Zonal Secretary, Pastor Simon Danladi Atta of NTA Jalingo, was sworn in by the Vice President of the Zone Alhaji Kagama Amshi from Damaturu, Yobe State with the support of Usman Abbas Shehu, a National Ex-officio from Bauchi.

Shortly after swearing in the Zonal Secretary, Alhaji Amshi congratulated him for his well deserved appointment as a dedicated and committed member of the association.

He extended President Benjamin Isaiah’s greetings and support while also assuring him of SWAN NEC support in the discharge of his responsibilities as Zonal Secretary.

The Vice President also used the occasion to once again condole the family of late Kabiru Usman Jalingo and SWAN family, praying Almighty Allah to reward him with jannatul firdaus.

In his acceptance speech, Pastor Simon Danladi Atta expressed gratitude to the National Body of SWAN for finding him worthy to serve as Zonal Secretary, promising to do everything humanity possible to justify the confidence repose in him.

Pastor Atta also commended the Taraba State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, under the leadership of Sani Sulaiman for proposing his name for the appointment and assured that he will work tirelessly in collaboration with all chapters in the zone for the rapid development of sports and sports journalism.


Other important dignitaries who gave goodwill Messages include, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo, the immediate past SWAN National Deputy President; Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen, NUJ State Council Chairman; Comrade Joachim Dangana, immediate past SWAN Chairman; representatives of GM NTA Jalingo; and the State Director of Sports.
