Support Govt ‘s Efforts in Education, NNPC Official Charges Nigerians

Nigerians have been charged to support government efforts in uplifting education especially in the areas of information and communication technology.
The Chief Upstream Investment officer of Nigeria Natiinal Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited, Mallam Bala Wunti made the plea at the official commissioning of an ultra-modern Information Communication Center at Sa’adu Zungur University in Gadau, Bauchi State.
Mallam Bala Wunti, emphasized the importance of education and Information Communication Technology (ICT) in societal development especially at this era as catalyst for the development of education.
The new facility was constructed and donated to the university to support the advancement of technology in today’s world.
Wunti highlighted the significance of Corporate Social Responsibility in the NNPC-SPDC Joint Venture, thanking all partners involved in the impactful initiative aimed at developing human capital for the nation’s future.
Dr. Osagie Okunbor, representing The Shell Petroleum Development Company, expressed his joy at the successful completion of the social investment project in North-East Nigeria. Mr Osage said the collaborative efforts with the university showcased a commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and promoting access to IT skills in the North East region.
The newly inaugurated two-floor ICT facility boasts of a visually stimulating workspace for students to engage in collaborative work and innovation.
Other features include a generator house, water facilities, and a dedicated cycling path, promoting a conducive environment for learning.
According to him, local contractors played a vital role in the construction process, aligning with the goal of fostering sustainable development and capacity building in the region.
The project will not only improve access to quality education but also support various initiatives in North-East Nigeria.
