Steve Amuda has declared his intention to run for the House of Representatives seat for the Akoko Northwest/North East federal constituency in Ondo State, under the Umbrella of the African Democratic Congress.

In a manifesto he released, Steve Amuda, noted his priority areas to include roads, unemployment, security, healthcare, and inclusivity.
According to him, the campaign and bid are aimed at changing the narrative through transformative governance.
It reads “Politics is not only about sharing food items, cash gifts, or temporary handouts. Politics must be ideologically grounded, with solutions that address citizens’ needs and concerns.
“I am offering myself to serve in the House of Representatives because our constituency deserves a proper and committed representation that works for the common cause of our people. If given the opportunity, I will serve with the unwavering commitment to bring succour to the people of our constituency.
“I am determined to address the socio-economic needs of our people and detach myself from the politics of individualism that only benefits a few.

According to him, issues including poor and unsafe roads, rising unemployment and youth frustration, Insecurity and fear along our communities and transport routes, weak access to healthcare and education, and politics of exclusion and patronage drew his interest
“This campaign is about changing these narratives. If elected, my team will adopt a transformative, reformist style of governance to address these challenges. I am deeply committed to serving you better”
He further stressed, “roads linking Ikare – Erusu – Ikaram – Ajowa – Akunu (towards Kogi axis) have become dangerous, exposing our people to kidnapping and banditry.
He opined, “Unemployment and poverty continue to rise, pushing young people into desperation. Healthcare facilities are overstretched. Education is losing its appeal because it no longer guarantees opportunity. If elected, I will represent every constituent regardless of party, religion, or background,” Steve declared
While highlighting the strategies to achieve these goals, he explained:
“I will advocate for community-based policing and state police reforms, with strong legal safeguards, support the professional restructuring and regulation of vigilante groups, working under the supervision of the Nigeria Police, push for training centres to build the capacity of community safety actors, promote early-warning and conflict-prevention systems rooted in our communities, and establish skills and vocational training centres to create jobs to our unemployed youths.
On education, Healthcare and Social Protection, the ADC aspirant said, “a healthy and educated people build a strong society. I will advocate for improved funding and oversight of primary healthcare centres across the constituents.”He declared.
Steve promised to engage in broad-based consultation with our people on matters affecting our constituency, noting that together, they can build a constituency that is safe, productive, and respected.
