Sports Philanthropist Donates Tennis Equipment To 6 Northeast States

A sports Philanthropist Ahmed Khamisu Mailantarki has donated Butterfly Centerfold Table Tennis, accessories to 6 States of Northeast region.

This gesture is aimed at promoting youths participation in Table Tennis.
The event took place at the Table Tennis indoor hall of Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.

The event also drew participants from the six states of Northeast zone to participate in the two day Maiden Table Tennis Clinic.
Speaking,the donor Ahmed Khamisu Mailantarki said the act was born out of desire to promote the game of Table Tennis in the zone.

He added that the clinic conducted is to engage young children for talent hunts to represent the Northeast zone at the National level and beyond.
On his part, the Northeast Board Member of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Mr Heman Timothy commended Ahmed Hamisu Mailantarki for sponsoring the two-day Table Tennis Clinic in Taraba state as well as the donation of accessories to the state of the zone.

Mr Heman Timothy also lauded the coaches who actively engaged the participants in training on how to play the Table Tennis.
According to him, Coaches from the various states of the zone should not rest in their oars to train the identified young children to enable them perform better.

The Chief Coach Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Bello Nasiru said the clinic is the catch them young with a view to grooming them to represent the zone at the national level in the Table Tennis game.
He commended the sponsor and Financier of the two day Maiden Table Tennis Clinic, Ahmed Hamisu Mailantarki for investing in sport development, pledging to always rally around him.

He disclosed that similar events will be conducted in the remaining states of Northeast zone for talent hunt.
A technical Table Tennis Director in the Board of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation, Shuabu Okainde described the exercise as the best platform to groom the younger ones to play Table Tennis and lauded the sponsor of the event for supporting sports development at the grassroots.
Lending his voice, the Taraba State Director of Sports, George Shitta thanked the organizer and sponsor of the training for chosen Taraba state to host the maiden edition.
George Shitta appreciated the National Coaches for dedicating their time to train the younger ones, leading to the selection of those who performed better for further training.
