Sokoto Airstrikes: WACHEF Restates Commitment To Safety, Service Delivery

The Board of Trustees of the Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation, WACHEF, says the security incident reported in parts of Sokoto State on the 25th of this month did not affect any of its programs in the state.
This clarification is contained in a Statement signed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Dr Garba Danjuma, addressed to Partners, Donors, Families and Stakeholders, a copy of which was obtained by Echo Express in Jalingo, the Taraba State Capital.
“The Board of Trustees of the Women and Children Health Empowerment Foundation (WACHEF),
implementing the Clubfoot program in Sokoto, Katsina, and Taraba states with funding from MiracleFeet, writes to address the security incident reported in parts of Sokoto State, Nigeria, on December 25, 2025, and to reassure all those we serve and work with regarding the safety and continuity of our operations”.
The Foundation stressed that it has not received any information suggesting that WACHEF-supported program sites in Sokoto State were affected by the airstrikes, neither has it received any reports indicating that WACHEF staff members, their families, or the children and families served across any of our programs were harmed as a result of these events.
“This includes our clubfoot program as well as our other women and children health initiatives.
“While we recognize that the fear and uncertainty caused by this situation may temporarily affect program activities, WACHEF is working closely with our donors, partners, and community
stakeholders to ensure that all program operations continue safely and effectively.
“The safety and well-being of the children we serve, their families, and our dedicated staff remain our highest priority. We understand that incidents of this nature can raise understandable concerns among families and partners.
“We therefore want to assure you that WACHEF is closely monitoring the situation, in coordination with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations, including MiracleFeet”.

Dr Garba Danjuma assured that the Foundation will continue to take all necessary precautions to ensure that all WACHEF clinics and program sites remain safe and welcoming spaces for children, caregivers, and communities.
He added that even in challenging and uncertain environments, WACHEF remains steadfast in its mission to improve the health, well-being, and future of women and children in the communities it serve.
“Our teams remain committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care and services across all our programs.
“We are committed to transparent and timely communication with all stakeholders. Should there be any changes that affect our operations or service delivery, we will immediately inform families, partners, and donors.
“We are grateful for the resilience of the families we serve, the dedication of
our staff, and the continued trust and solidarity of our donors and partners”.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, he reaffirmed WACHEF’s firm commitment to the health, safety, dignity, and future of every child and family under the Foundation.
