Senior Civil Servants Urged to Elect Leaders Committed to Welfare and Rights

The National President of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Comrade Shehu Muhammad, has called on union members to elect credible leaders who are committed to working for their rights and welfare.
He made this call during the 5th Quadrennial Delegates Conference of the Taraba State branch of the union, held in Jalingo.
Represented by the National Vice President, Comrade Onjeh Enewa, the President expressed confidence in the capacity of the union to attain greater heights with the right leadership.
“The sky will be their limit if credible leaders are brought on board,” he said.
In her welcome address, the Chairperson of the Association, Comrade Paulina Ishaya Gani who was re-elected at the event, thanked the national leadership for their support.
She assured members and guests that the election would be peaceful and successful.
She emphasized the importance of democratic principles in trade unionism, noting that the conference serves as a platform for electing new leaders who will oversee the union’s affairs for the next four years.
In a speech accepting her re-election, Comrade Paulina Ishaya Gani expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the election, pledging to continue advocating for the welfare of members and upholding the principles of the union.
Other elected officials include Vice Chairman, Comrade Isaac Makong, Vice Chairman, Comrade Hauwa Garbabi and Comrade Jonathan Ayuba as Treasurer.
Also elected were Comrade Mary Inuwa, auditor and Comrade Foma Danasabe and Ex-Officio.
Goodwill messages were delivered by representatives from the Federal Ministry of Labour, the Trade Union Congress (TUC), and the Office of the Head of Service, all of whom commended the union for its commitment to democratic ideals and workers’ rights.
