Senator Lau To Connect Taraba Community To National Grid

The Senator representing Taraba North, Senator Shuaibu Isa Lau has promised to connect the Abbare – Mayo-Lope to the National Grid.

The Senator made the declaration on Saturday at the First Edition of Sungki Yandang Cultural Carnival in Mayo-Lope, Lau local government area of Taraba State.
He said the electricity would impact tremendously on the Socio- economic fortunes of the community, adding that
the provision of power to the community would serve as a source of employment generation to the Yandang teaming youth population.
The Senator while commending the Yandang people for their support to him during the 2023 Senatorial election, said their votes was for development, peace and stability.
He promised to pay the community back for their overwhelming support, urging
the Yandang people to continue leaving in peace with themselves and their neighbours.
Earlier, Alhaji Audu Lauya, Member representing Lau, Karim Lamido and Ardo Kola Federal Constituency, challenged all ethnic groups in Nigeria to translate the National Anthem into their dialects.

He advised other tribes to emulate the Yandang who not only translated the three stanzas of National Anthem into Yandang dialect but also sang it at the event.
He promised to support the youths of Yandang to secure employments at the federal level, urging those who are qualified to apply for the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment to do so.
He eulogised the Yandang people as peace loving and dependable set of people.
In his remark, Gov Agbu Kefas of Taraba State promised to rehabilitate, reconcile and reintegrate the Yandang communities who were victims of farmers/herders conflict in 2018.
Represented by Chief Timothy Kataps, the Secretary to the Government of the State also commended the community for organizing such a rich cultural festival.

He said that the administration would enlist the carnival under the cultural calendar of the state.
The event attracted all the people of Yandang from all works of life.
Traditional leaders from Gombe, Adamawa and Taraba were also in attendance.
