The National Association of Kilba Students (NAKS) has been revived with Senator Alex John Kala’a spearheading the union as its President.

Alex John Kala’a is the Senator representing Bingham, faculty of law.
He was a one term NAKS President at College for Legal Studies Yola, one term Chief of Staff, Mubi zone and Coordinator, Kala’a Youth Forum.
In his maiden address to Kilba nation, Alex John extended his warmest felicitations to Kilba Students in Nigeria as a whole for bestowing on him, the onerous task of propelling the affairs of the union.
He said;
“Five years ago, our association was born out of the desire to unite Kilba, creating a space where we could support one another, share knowledge, and grow together. Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control, our progress was halted. Religious divides, town differences, and individual interests caused a rift in our unity, leaving us scattered without the collective strength we once had.
However, let me remind you all that our shared identity as Kilba students transcends these differences. We are one people, one community, with one vision for success and progress. Our rich heritage, our shared values, and the dreams we hold for a brighter future are far more significant than the divisions that once drove us apart. It’s time we let go of the past, set aside personal and divisive interests, and come together as the force we are meant to be”.
Alex John Kala’a added that;
“Today, as we embark on this journey of revival, let us acknowledge the mistakes of the past, but more importantly, let us focus on the immense potential we have ahead of us. We can’t change what happened, but we have full control over what we do from this moment on. The issues that once kept us apart — be they religious or town-based — are no longer obstacles; they are opportunities for us to embrace diversity and build a more inclusive, stronger association.
This association is about YOU — every Kilba student, regardless of where you come from, what you believe, or what personal interests you may have. Together, we can achieve greatness. The power of this association lies not just in the number of students who are part of it, but in the shared commitment to work together, to support each other, and to build a future we can all be proud of.
We must focus on the things that unite us: our shared experiences as students, our common goals for academic and personal success, and our responsibility to each other. Whether we are from different towns or have different faiths, we all share the desire for a better future, one that we can build together as a unified association.
It will not always be easy. There will be challenges along the way, as there always are, when we strive to rebuild something from the ground up. But let me remind you — we have the power to overcome any obstacle. Unity is our greatest strength, and together, we will not only revive this association, but we will elevate it to new heights.
I call on each and every one of you to set aside the differences of the past. Let’s look to the future with optimism, with hope, and with a renewed sense of purpose. The National Association of Kilba Students is not just an association; it is a family. As family, we support each other, we grow together, and we rise above any challenge that comes our way.
So, today, let us take the first step in rekindling this flame. Together, let’s build a strong, united, and thriving community of Kilba students. A community where we celebrate our diversity, strengthen our bonds, and create opportunities for each and every one of us to succeed.
