Secretary MODEI, Mary Tijos commends Taraba Gov for developmental initiatives

Taraba State Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation (MODEI), Comrade (Mrs) Mary Jonathan Tijos has commended the State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas for the Moving Forward Agenda of his administration.

Mrs. Jonathan Tijos said the Moving Forward Agenda of the Governor’s administration was aimed at developing and transforming the State.
She spoke with our Reporter during an exclusive interview in Jalingo the State capital.
According to her, Governor Kefas’ transformative agenda started with the renovation of old, dilapidated and/or near-moribund government facilities executed by past administrations across the State.
“It’s really too good to re-structure or re-model existing edifices in the State to turn them to befitting standards”.
“All these are for the comfort and interest of the people of the State especially Civil Servants who will enjoy the facilities as their offices”, she said.
“I am commending the bold step taken by the Governor because I am part of the success story of the transformative agenda of his administration.
“His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas in his visionary leadership is a man that has taste and that is the reason why he said executing new structures or edifices while the existing ones are in dilapidated state will not help grow the economy of the State”.
She gave reference to the Danbaba Suntai Airport, Jalingo remodelled to a global standard, saying flights can now fly in and out of the state, to and from any part of the world.
According to her, the State House of Assembly complex Jalingo also remodelled by Governor Kefas is now wearing a new look with modern facilities.

“Renovation and rehabilitation of facilities at Government Science School, Jalingo
“The Presidential Lodge here in Jalingo the State capital is also passing through renovation and remodeling, to mention but a few”.

On the governor’s achievements for the past two years in office, she added that the governor, with a view to actualizing his five finger agenda has made meaningful achievements in the areas of education, security, health, Agriculture, women and youth development.
“On assumption of office in May, 2023, Kefas declared free education for primary school pupils and secondary school students across the State. For that, we call him a champion of free education”,
“He also reduced the school fees of students of state tertiary institutions by 50%.
“The people of the State need to appreciate Governor Kefas owing to his victory over insecurity across the State. We now sleep with our two eyes closed”,
“He has made sure that all the security architecture in the State are given top priority and care. Cases of armed robbery, kidnappings, rape, are things of the past now in the State.
“I know what I am telling you because I am part of his success story. Kefas is a man of passion, he wants to change the narratives”
As the Secretary of the State Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation (MODEI), I can tell you that Taraba State is one of the States that has a full fledged Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation.
“Dr. Kefas has a passion to develop the state and he wants the support of every body. People who have innovative ideas, those who can think outside the box, to join him develop the state. His administration is non political, non tribalistic, and non religious”, she noted.
On the just concluded Taravest programme, comrade Tijos said Governor Kefa wants to open up the State to the world. The natural resources that the state is blessed with need to be harnessed and tapped. That was the reason why he invited successful business men to the be part of the programme.
“Kefas is doing his best across the 16 LGAs and two development areas of the state and I called on the good people of the State to rally round him, support him to succeed”,
“The Special Advisers (SAs) he has appointed from various Wards and local government areas. Almost every ward across the State got an appointment here. I can only advise them to cooperate by going back to their villages and request from the people the most pressing needs and come back to the Governor. He has a passion for his people”,
“On youths and women development, the governor had more youths and women in his cabinet. He chose women because women are care-givers, when women are on the decision table, things are achievable. “I see Taraba in a transformative nature why because we have the potentials both human and natural.
“We can develop the state and Taraba is moving forward, we can change the narratives and Kefas is changing the narratives of Taraba State. I believe in him, I believe his vision and thank God I am part of his success story”,
“Before his tenure elapses, all he has not achieved now, he will achieve them by the grace of God but he needs our support and prayers”, she added.
