SAZU Staff Unrest: Bauchi Govt Sets Up Visitation Panel

In response to the recent unrest among the academic staff at the Sa’adu Zungur University Gadau, Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has established a high-level visitation panel to the university.

This panel is tasked with exploring the underlying causes of the recent industrial action taken by the academic staff, reviewing the institution’s financial operations, and formulating a framework and strategy for effective and harmonious functioning.
During the inauguration ceremony at the Government House in Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed reiterated his administration’s commitment to education, highlighting the ongoing increases in budgetary allocations to the sector.
He encouraged panel members to utilize their expertise to achieve impactful outcomes.
In her response, the Chairperson of the panel, Professor Gambo Laraba Abdullahi expressed the commitment of the members to fulfilling the panel’s mandate and producing a thorough report.
The panel is expected to submit its findings within six weeks.
