SA On Transportation Condemns Militia Attack On Commuters in Taraba

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Taraba State on Transportation, Hon Jerry Tyolanga has condemned in strong terms the militia attack on a commuter bus in Taraba State along Wukari – Jootar road who were traveling to Abinsi in Benue State for a Conference.

Hon. Tyolanga noted that the attack which claimed the driver’s life, leaving several others with severe injuries, was unfortunate, regrettable and condemnable adding that, it was an attempt to disrupt the peace efforts of His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas and his Benue counterpart, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia.
He however, extended his condolence to the family of the driver who lost his life during the incident and further prayed for quick recovery for those who sustained injuries.
“It is unfortunate that travelers are constantly attacked on the high-ways thus, rendering our roads unsafe.
“This criminal act calls for serious security concern and check because, we cannot afford to watch our transporters fall victim to criminal activities of such magnitude,” he said.
He further called on Security Agencies/Operatives in Taraba and Benue States to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to book to prevent further attacks on high – ways.
