RUMDE FOOTBALL CLUB WINS ‘CHIEF CALEB UNITY TROPHY’

Rumde football club of Jimeta in Adamawa State has won the quarterly Chief Caleb Unity football competition played at the Double Government Day secondary school football field.

The winner slugged it out with Doubeli football club and cashed out with fifty thousand naira.

The Chairman of the steering committee for the football fiesta, Engineer Abubakar Musa said many teams participated in the tournament but Rumde football club won the trophy.

Spectators from Yola, the Adamawa state Capital trooped to the football field to watch the finals.

The sponsor of the Tournament, who is also a Governorship hopeful in Adamawa state, Chief Caleb Andrew Myebangara said, he has earmarked one million naira for the next quarterly competition and the winner will smile home with five hundred thousand naira, second position, three hundred thousand naira while the third position, two hundred thousand naira.

Chief Caleb noted that, the main purpose of organizing the quarterly football competition is to engage youths and bring them together for a common goal.

Talents would also be fetched out for bigger football teams across the country.
