Rotary Club pledges partnership with Taraba govt

Rotary Club Jalingo prestige, has pledged partnership with the Taraba State government to enhance its workforce and for ease of government activities.

President, Rotary Club Jalingo Prestige, Rotarian (Pharm) Pinkai Bade Aloysius made the pledge while fielding questions from Journalists shortly after taking over the mantle of leadership as the newly inaugurated President of the Club.
At the ceremony held Sunday at Camp Lavet Hotels Magami Jalingo, Rotarian Aloysius said Rotary Club works hand in hand with any state or city it finds itself and therefore, aligns with the objectives of such a state government.
He further described Rotary Club as a critical stakeholder of polio immunization activities, saying immunization activities, also belong to the government of the day.
Rotarian Aloysius noted that Taraba State, Jalingo particularly is not different from other states or cities that are benefitting from the services of Rotary Club.
“Rotary will also key into the objectives of the State government under the leadership of His Excellency, Dr Agbu Kefas”, he added.
Explaining further what the day’s event was all about, Rotarian President said, “to mark the transition in Rotary year, the Club gave Awards and also did the formal handing over”,
“As a tradition in Rotary, every year you have a new President. The Rotary year ended June 31st and then the new year started July, 1st. And to ensure that leadership continues, the new sets of leaders for the new Rotary year are now being inaugurated. So, it’s a handing over ceremony”.
Rtn Aloysius told Reporters that for one to emerge as President of the Club, it takes a transition period of three years. “you are nominated as President nominee, a year later, you become President-elect”,
“In Rotary, serving humanity is a key and then, we have priority areas such as health, we look at the environment, poverty alleviation strategies and other interventions where there are needs, the Rotary intervention can come in and then offer helping hands”.
He however, spoke on challenges Rotary face while carrying out its activities adding, such require funding and a lot of them are capital intensive”,
“As a Club therefore, you have to diversify a means to be able to meet some spirited individuals, philanthropists, some times governments, other NGOs that can give you the needed support so as to meet the aims and objectives of the Club”,
“In such cases, the club will key into government programmes. So, we don’t act on isolation”,
“It will interest you to know that Rotary International is the only organization that has a seat in the United Nations. United Nations is the seat of government of the world so, that is how the Rotary also operates”,
President (Rotarian) Aloysius at work.
“To my Rotary members, you know leadership without followership is actually a work. And so, a lot is expected, we look forward for maximum cooperation. One of our belief in Rotary is that you give your time, talent and treasure. So, for any Rotary member to be successful he or she must put in his her “Time, Talent and Treasure (TTT)”,
“On membership, he said Rotary membership is open, usually we make open invitations to all. In this Rotary Club Jalingo Prestige, we meet every Sunday from 4:00 – 4.30pm at Camp Lavet Hotels. This is our constant venue. We can reach out to bring in new members and from time to time, invite people that have Rotary Club at heart’ the kind of lifestyle to join us and keep the Club moving”, said Rotarian President, Aloysius.
Our Correspondent gathered that the immediate past President Rotarian Samuel Tari (Magic President) led the Club from 2024-2025 while the newly inaugurated President Rotarian Pinkai Bade Aloysius (Unite For Good President)’s tenure ends in 2026 i.e (2025-2026).
