RMAFC Commends Bauchi Governor

The Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed has vowed to uphold transparency in the management of funds received from the Federal Government’s Natural Resources Development Fund.
Senator Bala Mohammed stated this on Monday when he hosted a delegation from the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), under the Chairmanship of Ambassador Desmond Akawor, at the Government House Bauchi, where the governor expressed gratitude to former President Muhammadu Buhari for approving ₦17 billion fund and to President Bola Tinubu for facilitating its release to make it workable.
He explained that about ₦7 billion was deliberately set aside in escrow as a safeguard for accountability.
The governor explained that, Projects executed under the funds in the state are Bauchi Oil and Gas Academy in Alkaleri, designed to train manpower in solid minerals and energy, the modernization of the state’s fertilizer blending plant in partnership with OCP Morocco, irrigation pilot schemes across all senatorial zones and the ongoing upgrades of Yankari Game Reserve with solar-powered facilities, ahead of its planned concession at the forthcoming Bauchi Investment Summit.
He emphasized that the initiatives are targeted at strengthening agricultural and mineral value chains, stimulating tourism, and creating employment opportunities for youth purposefulness.
The leader of the delegation Ambassador Akawor, informed that the RMAFC team’s visit to Bauchi is to monitor the utilisation of the fund in line with presidential directives.
He said “the commission had inspected projects at the Oil and Gas Academy and Yankari Game Reserve and we are satisfied with level of progress made so far”.
He commended Bauchi state Governor Bala Mohammed for judicious use of the fund as expected and urged him to continue in the interest of his people for a better Bauchi State.
