Retired NYSC Director Urges Corps Members to Appreciate Scheme’s Benefits

A retired Director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Solomon Ishaku on Tuesday, counseled corps members posted to serve in Taraba State to appreciate the scheme for the opportunities it provides.
Ishaku gave the advise during a visit to the 2025 Batch A Stream II corps members at the Permanent Orientation Camp in Sibre, where he encouraged them to value the experience of traveling across the federation and learning about different cultures and traditions.
“Appreciate the NYSC scheme and make the most of the opportunities it provides. The experience and skills you acquire will shape your future,” Ishaku advised.
Ishaku urged the corps members to research and network with people to find ways to make a living in Taraba State, highlighting the abundance of opportunities available.
He also enlightened them on the Cardinal Programs and the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, encouraging them to pay attention and benefit from these initiatives.

“The Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development program will equip you with the skills and knowledge to become self-reliant and contribute to the nation’s economic growth,” Ishaku noted.
The former director advised the corps members to be respectful, dutiful, and law-abiding during their primary assignments in their host communities.
He also urged them to stay away from social vices and avoid unauthorized travels or expeditions during the service year.
In his remark, the Coordinator of NYSC in Taraba State, Mr. Ella Aji Williams, expressed gratitude to Ishaku for visiting the camp and inspiring the corps members.
