Push For Creation Of 3 Chiefdoms in Ardo Kola LGA, Taraba Journalist, Writes Assembly Member
By Lynn Adda
A Journalist and Peace Advocate, based in Taraba State, Comrade Keke Moses has written an Open Letter Open Letter to Hon. Happy Shonruba, Member Representing Ardo Kola Constituency in the Taraba State House of Assembly, calling for legislative action for the creation of Three Chiefdoms in Ardo Kola Local Government Area of the state.

Comrade Keke Moses
“I write to you with utmost respect and patriotic concern regarding a pressing issue that directly affects the cultural representation, peace, and socio-political equity of the good people of Ardo Kola Local Government Area.
“As a peace journalist and advocate for harmony and justice in Taraba State, I wish to draw your attention to the urgent need for a legislative motion in the Taraba State House of Assembly advocating for the creation of three distinct Chiefdoms within Ardo Kola LGA—namely:
Kola Chiefdom (to be headed by a Mumuye traditional ruler)
Bakin Dutse Chiefdom (to be headed by a Kona traditional ruler)
Ardo Chiefdom (to be headed by a Fulani traditional ruler)”.
Comrade Moses believes that the establishment of the Chiefdoms would not only bring recognition to the traditional institutions in Ardo Kola but also serve as a unifying structure that respects the identities and histories of the major ethnic groups in the area.
He lamented that Ardo Kola remains the only Local Government Area in Taraba State without a recognized First Class or even Third Class Chiefdom, saying this omission has continued to fuel feelings of marginalization among constituents, weaken local governance, and diminish the role of traditional institutions in conflict resolution and grassroots development.
“Your leadership and representation at this critical time offer a unique opportunity to correct this historic imbalance. By sponsoring and championing a motion for the creation of these Chiefdoms, you would not only fulfill your legislative mandate but also leave a legacy of inclusivity and justice that will be remembered for generations.
“I trust that your love for Ardo Kola and your commitment to peace, equity, and development will inspire swift action on this matter”.
Thank you for your service and representation.
