As part of measures adopted by the Taraba state Government to ensure that the nationwide protest did not escalate to break down of law and order, a safe Protest Situation Room has been set up in collaboration with the security agencies.
The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas was at the situation room to see things for himself.
The safe Protest Situation Room was set up to ensure that the nationwide hunger and suffering protest remains peaceful devoid of the breakdown of law and order.
On Thursday, the first day of the protest, the Governor of Taraba State Dr Agbu Kefas and some heads of security agencies were at the situation room to observe the situation.
Speaking in an interview with the Government House Press Crew shortly after the visit, the Governor noted that even though the protest was peaceful in the state, the government would not take chances because the process could be hijacked by hoodlums.
He lauded the commitment of various security agencies to the peaceful protest, adding that protest remains the constitutional right of everyone as long as it remains peaceful.
He reiterated that his government has been consulting with the stakeholders and citizens to identify areas of interest in the protest and disclosed that since his emergence, the government has been addressing some of the issues.
