Press Week: Taraba Gov Honoured as Security Man of the Year 2025

Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has been named the Security Man of the Year 2025 by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taraba State Council.

The award was presented during the grand finale of the 2025 Press Week held in Jalingo.

The prestigious event also saw the recognition of several other distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to society:

David Sabo Kente was honoured as the Philanthropist of the Year.

Jafaru Yakubu Ciroma, Member representing Gassol and Bali Federal Constituency, received the Outstanding Representative of the Year award.

Retired General Aliyu Faransa, Chairman of the Taraba State Revenue Service, was named Revenue Man of the Year.

Mary Sinjen, Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, received the Leadership Impact of the Year award.

Dr. Aisha Adamu, Medical Director, Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Jalingo, was honoured with the Outstanding Leadership of the Year award.

Aminu Jauro Hassan, Chairman of Jalingo Local Government Council, was recognized as the Outstanding Local Government Council Chairman of the Year.

Magaji Hunkuyi of the Daily Trust newspaper received the Community Journalism Impact Award.

Ben Adaji was awarded the Lifetime Bravery and Golden Pen Award.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee and Vice Chairman of NUJ Taraba State Council, Adamu Also, explained that the awardees were carefully selected based on their meritorious service and positive impact on society.
