Press Week: Taraba Gov Accepts NUJ ‘s Award

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has accepted the “Security Man of the Year” Award bestowed on him by the Taraba State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ.

The Governor’s acceptance notice is contained in a Press Release signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communications, Mr Emmanuel Bello.
He commended the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists of thoughtfully recognizing his government’s efforts in the area of security.
Consequently, the Governor stressed that the NUJ will continue to experience growth in its duties under his administration.
While noting that Journalists are major partners in the work of moving Taraba forward, the Governor considers free speech and constructive criticisms as the main basis of any democratic experience.
Dr Agbu Kefas congratulated the Taraba State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ on activities marking the annual Press Week, which is being held after about ten years.
He noted with delight the commitment of Journalists in constantly sticking with professionalism.
The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in the state had earlier described Dr Agbu Kefas’s giant strides in security matters as the best in the history of Taraba State.
The body noted that it was a unanimous agreement by the Union to nominate the Governor for the Award.
Thursday, 17th April 2025 has been slated for the Award at the Grand finale of activities marking the Press Week at the C2C event Centre in Jalingo, the state capital.
