President Tinubu’s Wife Disburses Cash Grants To 1000 Women in Taraba

In an effort to cushion the effects of the economic hardship, the Renewed Hope Initiative, a pet project of the President’s Wife, Senator Oluremi Bola Tinubu in collaboration with the Office of the Wife of the Taraba State Governor has flagged off the disbursement of 50 thousand naira each to one thousand women petty traders across Taraba State.
The disbursement ceremony of the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment programme Recapitalization Grants for the one thousand women petty traders took place at the Conference Hall of the First Lady of Taraba State in Jalingo .
Presenting the 50 thousand naira to each of the beneficiaries, the Taraba State Governor’s Wife, Mrs Agyin Kefas revealed that the initiative is championed by the President’s wife, Senator Oluremi Bola Tinubu through the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment programme Recapitalization grants which is aimed at improving the living standard of vulnerable Nigerians, particularly women and persons with disabilities.
According to Agyin Kefas, the recapitalization grants would go a long way in strengthening the businesses of the beneficiaries for better profit as well as enhance their lives and families .
She described women’s contributions to the economy at the grassroots during this hard moment as the backbone of local economies despite the challenges that confront women.
In her address of welcome, the Taraba State State Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs and Child Development, Mary Sinjen expressed deepest gratitude to the First Lady of Nigeria and the Taraba State Governor’s Wife for their commitment and generosity in empowering women through the Renewed hope initiative.
The beneficiaries who could not hide their feelings, commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Mrs Agyin Agbu Kefas for identifying with them at this critical moment that Nigerians are passing through challenges especially in the economic aspect.
The empowerment programme cuts across the thirty-six states of the federation including the Federal Capital, Abuja.
