Power Outage: Chief Caleb Distributes Free Water To Jimeta Residents

Following the ongoing power outage, leading to the water scarcity being experienced in the metropolitan city of Jimeta in Adamawa State, Chief Caleb Andrew Myebangara, a Governorship hopeful in the State has commenced free distribution of water to the nooks and crannies of the city.
Water vendors have been talking advantage of the situation by selling of truck 12 Jerry cans of water at the cost of N3,000.00.
The privileged ones operating boreholes in their residential homes including institutions can no longer pump waters due to high cost of petroleum products.
It was against this backdrop couple with these critical times that Chief Caleb Andrew Myebangara took upon himself the challenge of providing water to Anguwan NEPA in Jimeta, a densely populated part of the state capital.
The gesture would be extended on daily basis to the strategic wards of Jimeta pending the restoration of steady power supply in the Northeastern part of the country.
It could be recalled that Chief Caleb also demonstrated this gesture across the 21 local government areas of the state last year when the region had similar vandalisation of Power Transmission towers around Bauchi State that affected the entire Northeastern states.
An expert who spoke to Newsmen on the development, said the gesture demonstrated by Chief Caleb Andrew Myebangara will curtail spread of water borne associated diseases and cases of dehydration particularly within Yola-North and South local government areas which recently witnessed the outbreak of cholera.
One of the residents identified as Mallam Zubairu Zayyanu expressed appreciation to Chief Caleb and urged other wealthy individuals to emulate his gesture.
Another resident, Rahila Addakano praised his humanitarian gesture.
Investigations by Our Correspondent shows that Jimeta Metropolis is experiencing serious water scarcity following the power outage which occurred nearly a week ago.
