Police cages 14 thugs in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command in its efforts to eliminate criminality in the State has succeeded in arresting 14 youth thugs.

According to a statement issued by the Spokesperson of the state police command, SP Nafiu Habib and made available to newsmen in Bauchi the thugs were arrested at different locations in the State while in the field of act.
He said on 15th January 2026 at about 1630hrs, a patrol team acted systematically following a tiff off on the activities of thug members (‘Yan Sara-suka) around Bakaro, Kofar Dumi, Tudun Yarima and Kofar Madaki areas respectively.
The PPRO explained that on receipt of the intelligence report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of ‘A’ Division Bauchi, CSP Hassan A. Musa led a team and swiftly swung into action, identified and arrested the perpetrators:
He said those arrested include Mr. Abbati 20yrs, Mr. Mamman 21yrs, Mr. Adamu 22yrs, Mr. Khalid 20yrs,Mr. Abubakar 19yrs and Mr. Mahmood 22yrs.
Others arrested by the police include Mr. Jabir 21yrs, Mr. Haruna 18yrs, Mr. Khalid 18yrs,Mr. Abubakar 19yrs, Mr. Kabiru 20yrs, Mr. Anas 20yrs, Mr. Mohammed 19yrs and Mr. Abdulkarim 22yrs, all of Kofar Dumi, Karofin Madaki, Tudun Yarima, and Bakaro in Bauchi Metropolis.
SP Habib stated that during interrogation, the suspects freely confessed having criminally conspired among themselves, armed with dangerous weapons such as; Machetes, Sharp knives, and the likes, storm the aforementioned areas and violently attacked and beat up innocent citizens, dispossessed their valuables such as phones and money and inflicted injuries to anyone who resist to surrender their valuables.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu appreciated the continuous cooperation and support from the members of the public and encouraged all to be vigilant.
