PMS: Office Of The Head Of Service Of The Federation, Lauds FedPoly Bali For Compliance

A two-day workshop on Performance Management System, PMS ended on Wednesday at the Federal Polytechnic Bali in Taraba State, with commendation by the resource persons drawn from the office of the Head of service of the Federation, Abuja.

commended the institutionalization of Performance Management System, PMS by the Federal Polytechnic Bali, describing it as commendable.
The resource person made the commendation at the end of the two days intensive workshop on the Performance Management System organized by the institution in collaboration with the Registry Department of the institution.

Declaring the workshop opened on Tuesday, the Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Mohammed Usman, had emphasized the need for staff to understand the PMS, which had already replaced the Annual Performance Assessment (APA) in compliance with the New Public Service Rules.

The workshop featured presentations from two experts in the field, Mr. Oko Emmanuel and Mr. Bikom O. Edward, who are both staff of the office of the Head of Service of the Federation.
They took participants through the concepts and principles of PMS, its benefits, and how to implement it effectively.
Topics discussed during the workshop included Overview of Performance Management System (PMS), Overview of Employee Performance Management System (EPMS), Job Objective Setting, KRAs, & KPIs, Dynamics of Cascading MDAs Deliverables to all Levels of Accountabilities, Dynamics of Performance Contract Development, Conducting Employee Performance Review, as well as Employee Performance Appraisal.
The participants, who included academic and non-academic staff, engaged actively in the workshop, asking questions and sharing their experiences.
The participants commended the management of the polytechnic for hosting the workshop, which they described as timely and relevant.
In his closing remarks, the Acting Registrar of the institution, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim Baba, lauded the management of the polytechnic, the facilitators as well as the participants for their commitment towards achieving the desired objectives.

Other dignitaries who attended the workshop included the Acting Bursar, Alhaji Abdulmumini Barkindo; Acting Librarian, Mr. Daniel Marke; Director of Academic Planning, Dr. Yahaya Tukur; Deans of Schools; and Heads of Departments.
The Director of Academic Planning thanked the management, facilitators, and participants for their contributions to the success of the event.
The 2-day sensitization workshop on Performance Management System was designed to enhance the productivity and efficiency of staff in the polytechnic, which will ultimately contribute to the achievement of the institution’s strategic objectives.
