Philanthropy: My father inspired me – Saleem Goje

A Taraba born businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Saleem Iliyasu Goje has stated that his passion to be a blessing to any person or group of persons that come his way for assistance was an inspiration he got from his later father.

Dr. Goje, said when he was growing up, he saw his father rendering services, giving to the orphans, widows, elders, the physically challenged and less privileged persons in his community with both cash and material things.
He spoke to reporters at the residence of Alhaji Gambo Imam of Anguwan Primary Board, Jalingo during a courtesy visit on the elder statesman.
 Goge, who described the elder statesman as a father and role model said it was just a fatherly visit.

“He’s a father and a role model and so it’s just a fatherly visit. We are a family and here seems to be my home too. So, I came to offer visitations and greetings too and also look for fatherly blessings”,
“Like I said, I’m just doing consultations for now, looking for pieces of advice from my fathers and expecting their fatherly blessings”,
“When I was growing up, I saw my Dad doing just what I am doing now on a daily basis so when I got the privilege, chance and opportunity, I also have the passion to give back to the society”,
On if he has any interest for a particular political position come 2027 hence the visits and consultations? Saleem said: “Most of us, came from a political family, when the time comes and when politics presents itself, I wouldn’t say no”,
Reacting to what motivated him to distribute some items to some communities in Jalingo local government area recently, he reiterated that his father was a politician and philanthropist saying he wants to sustain his father’s legacy.
“My father has been a politician, and a philanthropist and so I want to build up and sustain his legacy”
“Any child that is being raised well knows that it’s good that when you are in town, you have to go out for family visits, to your loved ones, especially the elders in the society. Visit them, bless them and receive blessings and advice from them too”, he added.
Our Correspondent gathered that Dr. Saleem Iliyasu Goje was seen with a long motorcade comprising of youths who were chanting solidarity songs for him, visiting  elder statesman in some communities of Jalingo local government area.
