PDP Ward Congresses: House Majority Leader, Wukari Chairman Commend Peaceful Conduct

The nationwide Ward Congresses of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP were successfully held in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State this Saturday.
As early as 8 O’clock in the morning, PDP members including a large number of women were seen at the Patience Event Center, Wukari venue of the exercise.
The Congresses saw the emergence of new executives white some of the leaders were given another mandate in office.
Echo Express observed that the atmosphere at the event hall and surroundings were calm and peaceful.
Speaking to Echo Express shortly after the exercise, the Majority Leader of the Taraba State House of Assembly and Member representing Wukari 1 State Constituency, Hon Jethro Yakubu Zikengyu, thanked God for the successful conduct of the exercise.
“As you can see, all the wards have had their Congresses. I am highly impressed because everything went on all peacefully and orderly.
“One of the factors that is responsible for the success and orderly conduct of the exercise is the fact that there was adequate mobilisation of PDP members in Wukari.
“Another fact is that the Governor of Taraba State is from Wukari and that gave the members the strength to ensure that the exercise is conducted peacefully”.
The Majority Leader also has some words for the ward leaders.
“For the outgoing leaders, we want to thank you for your hard work and humility during your tenure and to the new leaders, we urge them to work together for the progress of the party in Taraba State.
“They should make sure they mobilise people to join the party so that PDP will continue to win in Taraba State in all elections that are forthcoming”.
For the Taraba State electorate, Hon Jethro Yakubu Zikengyu drew their attention to what the PDP has achieved over the years and still achieving in the state, saying it is the party to beat in the state.
He therefore appealed to Tarabans to continue to vote for the party because of its of sustained desire to provide dividends of democracy, stressing the need for the people to ensure that only competent and reliable candidates emerge at all times.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Wukari Local Government Council, Hon Dauda Samaila Agbu commended the Taraba State Governor,, Dr Agbu Kefas for providing a condusive atmosphere that led to the success of exercise.
“My appeal to the newly elected ward executives is that they should carry all the party faithful along. They should not leave anyone behind in their daily activities”.
The Chairman called on the people of the Local Government Area to continue to support Governor Agbu Kefas, the Local Government and all constituted authorities, stressing the need for peaceful coexistence among the residents.
One of the Ward Returning Officers, Mr Siki Matsunde Kente equally commended the conduct of the Ward Congresses, attributing it to adequate and sustained mobilisation of party members across the wards.
The exercise was attended by stakeholders including the Member representing Wukari 2 State Constituency, Hon Josiah Yaro Angye, two former Commissioners for Information and Reorientation, Barr Danjuma Adamu and Mrs Louise Emmanuel and some Special Advisers among others.
The Ward Congresses was supervised by some officials from the state and national Secretariat of the party.
