Palm Sunday: Clergy Urges Christians To Unite To Be Used By Christ

Christians in Taraba State joined their counterparts all over the world to celebrate Palm Sunday which marked the beginning of the Holy week, which commemorates Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem.
It is the fifth Sunday of Lent and is observed by various Christian denominations.
The palm Sunday also known as the Passion Sunday, recounts Jesus’s sufferings and death.
Palm Sunday, representing both the triumph and sorrow, as it marks the beginning of Holy Week, which culminates in Jesus’ death on the cross.
At Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cathedral Mile six Jalingo, the celebration was significant as parishioners started the procession from Howai Primary school Mile Six with dancing and singing as they raised high their palm fronds, swinging and shouting Hosanna in the highest as they processed to the Cathedral church.
In his homily, the Assistant Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Fr. Odinaka Chukwu Patrick charged Christians to untie themselves of anything that can hinder them from being used by Christ.
The Reverend Father made reference to the biblical donkey which Jesus sent his disciples to untie and bring it to him to use as he enters Jerusalem.
He stressed that when Christians are passing through diverse challenges, they should know that they are sharing in the passion of Christ.
Father Odinaka Patrick urging the congregation to practice christianity without reservation, noting that Jesus Christ said “learn from me,” and using those words, he urged all to learn from Christ.
He equally encouraged believers to acknowledge the authority and will of God in their lives just like Jesus at Gethsemane where he accepted sufferings and the will of God to die for the sins of mankind.
