Operation Keep Taraba Clean: Rotary Club presents Award of Excellence to State Coordinator
OKERAFOR ATHANATIUS, JALINGO
Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige on the occasion of Passing of Gavel, featured presentation of Award of Excellence to the Taraba State Coordinator, Operation Keep Taraba Clean, Mr. Iliya Kefas popularly known as Alhaji for distinguishing himself in the cleanliness of the State. It also coordinated a Handing Over event from one tenure to the other.

Presenting the Award at Camp Lavet Hotels Jalingo, the out-going President, Rotarian Samuel Tari (Magic President) said Kefas, born 49 years ago is a community leader with over 20 years of experience in mobilization, governance, and environmental management.
Rotarian Tari further disclosed that the Awardee is committed to driving organizational success through integrity, strategic leadership, and grassroots engagement.
He added that Kefas led a statewide environmental sanitation initiatives, mobilizing communities for sustainable waste management.
Rotary Club Jalingo Prestige also presented an Award of Excellence to Camp Lavet Hotels Jalingo for a Legacy of Hospitality in the State.
Rotarian Tari said Camp Lavet Hotels Jalingo over two decades, stood as a beacon of comfort, luxury, and exceptional service in the State.
“Camp Lavet Hotels Jalingo is being honoured today with Rotary’s “Hospitality Partnership Award”, for its unwavering commitment to community service by generously hosting the Rotary Club of Jalingo Prestige’s weekly meetings for over a year”, he said.
In a remark, Iliya Kefas Alhaji (JP) appreciated Rotary Club Jalingo Prestige for honouring him with an award of excellence.
He urged them to keep doing the good work of touching the lives of the vulnerable people in various communities of Taraba State, promoting educational support and socio economic well-being of the people.
He however, pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him by Rotary Club but rather described the Award as a spur to do more and serve the people better.

In an interview shortly with Journalists, the newly inaugurated President, Rotary Club Jalingo Prestige prestige (Unite For Good President), Rotarian (Pharmacist) Pinkai Bade Aloysius explained that, to mark the transition in the Rotary year, the Club decided to give Awards and also do the formal handing over.
“The Club looked at the community to see people who made impacts in their little ways and give them Awards.
Highlights of the occasion were presentation of Awards of Excellence to Iliya Kefas (Alh) and Camp Lavet Hotels Jalingo, formal handing over and taking over the Club’s leadership from the out-going President, (Magic President), Rotarian Samuel Tari to the newly inaugurated President, (Unite For Good President), Rotarian Pinkai Bade Aloysius.
Our Correspondent reports that the conference hall of Camp Lavet Hotels, Jalingo was filled to capacity by friends of the Awardees and Rotary Club Jalingo Prestige members.
