One Year: Sen. Manu has Performed Creditably Well – Alh. Rabilu

The Senator representing Taraba Central Senatorial Zone, Engr. Haruna Manu has performed creditably well within his one year in office.

A renowned political guru and chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State Northeast Nigeria, Alhaji Rabilu Umar who spoke during an interface with Journalists in Jalingo, said Manu’s performance at the National Assembly within the period under review is outstanding.
Alh. Umar said Senator Haruna Manu was able to deliver quality dividends of democracy to the people of Gassol, Bali, Kurmi and Sardauna Local Government Areas who he noted made up the Central Senatorial zone of the State.

The Gassol local government area born politician further highlighted some of the major achievements of the federal lawmaker which include donation of new transformers that helped the reconnection of Mutum Biyu, headquarters of Gassol Local Government back to the national grid.
“Senator Haruna Manu also repaired many damaged transformers in Mutum Biyu town, installed solar street lights in so many villages across the zone”.
“He empowered over 300 Women with fifty thousand Naira (N50,000.00) each after organizing a training workshop for them under his skills acquisition programme”, he said.
According to Alh. Rabilu Umar, Senator Haruna Manu who was the immediate past Deputy Governor of the State also engaged in the installation of solar street lights at the primary health care centers in Baissa, headquarters of Kurmi LGA, Garba Chede community in Bali LGA and Gunduma in Gassol LGA of the State.
He added that the federal lawmaker
also gave cash donations of about Fifty thousand Naira (N50,000.00) each to about ten thousand youth groups across the central Taraba Senatorial zone to help them be self-reliant.
“He also gave out cash gifts to over 3,000 youths with the sum of N10,000.00 each across the Senatorial zone of Centra Taraba as their Ramadan package on 25th March, 2024. He was represented at the occasion by the State commissioner, Ministry of Science and Technology, Hon. Muslim Aruwa at Mutum Biyu”.
“Hon. Manu also gave cash donations worth thousands of Naira to various households across the central Senatorial zone of the State to help soften the hardship currently experienced by the people as a result of the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government of Nigeria”.
According to Alh. Umar, the federal lawmaker also placed over 500 constituents on a monthly salary of about N50,000.00, N20,000.00 and N15,000.00.
“He facilitated about 47 youths from his Constituency into the Nigerian Army and several other paramilitary agencies across the country”.
“During fastings, Senator Haruna Manu distributed Ramadan relief materials worth thousands of Naira to the Muslim Umar with a view to helping them replace lost energies, regain strength and keep life going”.
“Senator Haruna Manu also initiated the installation of solar street lights in Makurna, Iomodu and Garin Ibir of Gassol local government whose project kick-off was anchored by a delegation led by Hon. Ephraim Waziri alongside with Hon. Isa Tobi, Hon. Hamza Jamis and Samaliya Sule on 19th February, 2024”.
“The lawmaker also distributed about 18,000 bags of rice and millet as Ramada packages to the Taraba central Senatorial district during Ramadan period on 8th March, 2024. This was kicked off by the Director General (DG) Haruna Manu Campaign Organization, the Rt. Hon. Simon Dogari”, he added.
As a legislator whose priority was to render quality service delivery to the entire people of the zone despite tribal, religious and/or political affiliations on 22nd December, 2023 distributed 10,000 bags of rice, 25,000 cartons of spaghetti, 3,000 jericans of groundnut and palm oil to the Christian faithful as their Christmas packages for 2023 Christmas celebration.
Alh. Umar said a delegation led by Barrister Hamidu, a legislative aid to Hon. Manu alongside with Hon. Ubale Gambo his Personal Assistant (PA) did the distribution.
