NSQ Centre, FedPoly Bali Graduates 58 Apprentices

The National Skills Qualification CentreĀ of the Federal Polytechnic Bali, has graduated 58 apprentices after 3 Months of in-class training.
The graduation ceremony for the 58 batch A apprentices which is being held after the first phase of the training at Skills Development Center took place at the Needs Assessment block of the Polytechnic.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the National Skills Qualification Centre, Bldr. Auwal Isa Mohammed, disclosed that the programme was initiated by the Federal Government in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for the purpose of training Nigerians in various skills.

The skills include Tailoring/Fashion-design, Computer Hardware, Block laying, Plumbing and Welding, fabrication among others.
Bldr Auwal further explained that 26 apprentices were trained in Fashion and garment making, Computer Hardware 13, Plumbing and fittings 12, Block laying and Concreting 3, Welding and Fabrication 4, bringing the total of 58 apprentices.
In his goodwill message the Registrar of the Polytechnic, Bali Alhaji Mohammed Tukur Lamido represented by the Deputy Registrar Council and General Affairs, Alhaji Ali Koyis, encouraged the apprentices to utilize the knowledge of the training for self reliance and better future.
In his presentation, Engr. Naziru Nuri who lectured the apprentices on “The role of MCPs & Trainees during apprenticeship phase” and “Readiness briefing for work place-based Training under master crafts person” encouraged them to be conscious of every step involved in the area of their learning for excellent grade because it is rewarding.

The Engineer also emphasized that use of personal protective equipment is vital for safety, encouraging them to embrace team work and develop good communication skills with customers and be observant in maintaining their machines and work equipment at all times.
In his closing remarks while appreciating the resource persons and other Staff present, the Coordinator Bldr. Auwal Isa, said the in-class training lasted for 3 months while the practical aspect lasted for 6 months, making the training a 9 months duration.
