The Chairman, Northeast Hunters Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Modibbo Idris Usman Tola, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to unravel the perpetrators of extra-Judicial killings of 17 Northern hunters in Edo State recently.
Modibbo who made the appeal during a Telephone conversation with our Correspondent equally condemned the action in strong terms, describing it as barbaric and inhumane even in the face of Nigeria’s constitution.
He said members of Nigeria Hunters Association have been contributing immensely to nation building through stabilizing the nation’s security architecture in tracking down terrorists, kidnappers, banditry and the dreaded Boko Haram and wondered why such action should be meted on innocent hunters.
Modibbo Idris Usman Tola who was emotional, condoled with the Government and Governor of Kano State, the Nigeria Hunters Association, Kano State branch as well as the immediate families of the victims over the sad incident.
“We have convened an immediate meeting in the Northwest after hearing the news of the extra-Judicial killings of our members and come up with a common position: President Tinubu should investigate and arrest the perpetrators. We have confirmed that the said hunters that were killed are from Kano.
“They were traveling from Edo State to Kano so as to celebrate sallah with their families but were intercepted in Edo and killed.
“This is inhumane and unpardonable even in the face of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”
