NNL25 SUPER 8: Bauchi Sports Commissioner charges Wikki players to secure NPFL ticket

By Umar Moh’d

The Bauchi State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Adamu Babayo Gabarin, has charged Wikki Tourists FC to go all out for victory in their final and decisive game of the ongoing NNL25 Super 8 Playoff in Asaba, Delta State against Yobe Desert FC.

The Sports Commissioner gave the charge during a visit to the team at their hotel in Asaba to motivate the players, expressing dissatisfaction over the team’s performance so far and reminded the players that the hopes of Bauchi people rest on their shoulders.

He urged them to raise their game and fight for the much-desired NPFL promotion ticket.

Earlier, Club Chairman, Engr. Auwal Gotal acknowledged that the team arrived Asaba in high spirits, but admitted that the two consecutive draws have changed the mood.

He however believes that a win in the final match will restore the hope of the team.

On behalf of the players and technical crew, Coach Abdu Maikaba apologized for the underwhelming results and assured that all hands will be on deck to secure a crucial win in the last group match.

Wikki Tourists sit 3rd in Group A with 2 points from two matches.

All attention now shifts to the must-win final group game against Yobe Desert on Thursday 10th July 2025 by 9am.
