Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, Inaugurates Taraba Branch

The Taraba State branch of the Nigerian Institute of Surveyors (NIS) has been formally inaugurated in Jalingo, with a renewed commitment to professionalism and unity among members.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, the outgoing Chairman, Surv. Zaku Isa, described the institute as the professional umbrella body for surveyors in Nigeria.

He emphasized that the organization is dedicated to safeguarding the welfare and interests of its members, promoting high professional ethics, and speaking with one voice on national issues.

Surv. Zaku noted that the activities of the institute are guided by its constitution, which clearly outlines its aims and objectives.

He congratulated the newly elected officials and urged them to uphold the values and standards of the profession.

In her acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairperson, Surv. Olive Angyu, expressed appreciation to all who supported her emergence, pledging to serve with dedication and to work for the growth and interest of the institute.

Surv. Angyu expressed optimism that the association would grow stronger under her leadership, promising that members would witness a new dawn in the affairs of the union.

The oath of office was administered by Surv. Dr. Maaku Mark Joshua, the Director General of the Taraba State Geographic Information Services (TAGIS).
