NGO Holds Thanksgiving Service For Freed Wukari Prince

A thanksgiving praise and worship has been held in Wukari in honour of Prince Matakhitswen Masa-Ibi, one of the sons of the late Aku Uka who was recently released by his kidnapers.

The event was held at the residence of Prince Matakhitswen Masa-Ibi in Wukari, the administrative seat of Wukari Local Government Area.

The occasion attracted friends, family members including the mother of the Taraba State Governor, Mrs Esther Kefas Atenwunu.

The praise and worship event was organized by a Wukari based humanitarian non governmental organization, Ayoku Kande Foundation.

In his exhortation, a Pastor with the Dunamis International Church Wukari, Pastor Joseph Udiki who spoke on gratitude, took his biblical reading from Psalms 101 verses 1 to 4.

He stressed that no one can worship God without a grateful heart, advising believers to always exhibit the heart of gratitude towards God.

He commended Prince Matakhitswen Masa-Ibi for chosen to show God gratitude for delivering him from the hands of his abductors through the praise and worship service.

Pastor Udiki said apart from attracting the presence of God and His deliverance, a grateful heart attracts God’s goodness.

In her brief remarks, the mother of the Taraba State Governor, Mrs Esther Kefas Atenwunu said she received the news of the kidnap incident with rude shock, which led to sleepless nights.

However, she said her trust in God coupled with the selfless service the Prince has been rendering to the less privileged in the society, gave her the courage and confidence that God will definitely deliver him from the kidnappers.

Pastor Mrs Esther Victor Udeh later led special prayers involving all women at the event for God’s divine mercy and protection over the Prince and his entire family.

Prince Matakhitswen Masa-Ibi who has been involved in humanitarian activities in the community and beyond, was kidnapped on his way to Takum from Wukari on the 13th of June and released on the 20th of the same month after the payment of an undisclosed amount as ransom.
