Ngada: We will be happy if Kefas will fix the roads – Coordinator.

The Coordinator of Ngada Special Development Area of Taraba State Northeast Nigeria, Hon. Felix Garkera has asked the State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas to give attention to the rural roads in the area by making them accessible for the people.
Hon. Garkera, who made the plea during an exclusive interview with the Echo news in Jalingo pointed out that giving attention to the roads will help the people move their farm produce from one location to the other.
“The major thing we would love him do for us is road, we will be happy if the governor will grade the roads, just grading”.
“This is because the terrain is very very rough, one has to pass through rivers, climb mountains, pass through thick forests before you get to your destination”.
“Any body that is going there for the first time will not want to go there again owing to the difficult terrain he or she has to face”.
“We are praying that God will touch our Governor to only grade the roads, fix some culverts, make the roads accessible for the people from the area”, he said.
Garkera further disclosed that over the years, Ngada Special Development Area was rejected and denied of infrastructural facilities but since the area was discovered and attention given, changes have started taking place.
He attributed the rapid changes experienced across the area to what he described as, “Special Development Programme”, initiated by the immediate past administration of the State.
“We have special amenities now like Clinics, among others, people don’t disturb themselves again looking for healthcare facilities, pregnant mothers don’t die any how again because Doctors are visiting most of our Clinics taking care of the health needs of the people”,
“Actually, we are relieved of the problems we have been going through, there are a lot of changes going on at Ngada”, he said.
Garkera said he is not ignorant of Governor Kefas’ laudable achievements to the people of the State since he came on board on May, 29th, 2023 which Ngada people have benefited.
He said insecurity was the one of the things that was giving them sleepless nights and headache. “But now, despite the difficult terrain, nobody is afraid to move”.
Hon. Garkera added that the governor’s special attention to the education sector has really affected positively on the lives of the people of Ngada.
“Declaration of free Education policy in both primary and secondary schools across the State, taking over the registration of WAEC and NECO fees and slashing of school fees of students of tertiary Institutions is enough for one to doff his or her cap for Dr. Kefas”, he said.
Hon. Felix Danfulani Garkera, who also lauded Governor Agbu Kefas’ programme on Sanitation, expressing joy that about Ninety (90) people from the area have been engaged with their allowances promptly paid.
“The governor’s wife has also engaged the services of ten (10) people bringing the number to one hundred (100)”, he added.
