NFF Announces Bruno Labbadia as Super Eagle’s Head Coach

The Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Dr. Mohammed Sanusi has announced the appointment of German tactician, Bruno Labbadia as the new head coach of the Senior National Football team, the Super Eagles.

Dr. Sanusi who made the appointment public in the early hours of Tuesday, said the NFF Executive Committee has approved the recommendation of its Technical and Development Sub_ Committee to appoint Mr. Bruno Labbadia as the Head Coach of Super Eagle, adding that the appointment is with immediate effect.
According to the SG, Labbadia brings extensive experience to his new role, with a successful coaching career in the Bundesliga.
“As a player, Labbadia won two caps for Germany and played for several clubs, including Bayern Munich, where he won the Bundesliga title in 1994.
Labbadia has coached numerous top teams, including Hertha Berlin, VfB Stuttgart, VfL Wolfsburg, and Bayer Leverkusen, and holds a UEFA Pro License”. He explained.
“His appointment comes at a crucial time for the Super Eagles, as they look to build on their recent performances and secure a place among the top footballing nations in Africa and the world”. Dr. Sanusi said.
The NFF expressed its confidence in Labbadia’s ability to guide the Super Eagles to success, highlighting his tactical acumen, motivational skills, and commitment to developing young talent.
They also emphasised the importance of having a coach with international experience to elevate the team’s performance on the global stage.
“As the new Super Eagles coach, Labbadia will be tasked with leading the team in upcoming international competitions, including the Africa Cup of Nations and the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
His appointment is expected to inject new energy and enthusiasm into the team, inspiring players and fans alike”. He added.
While welcoming Labbadia to Nigeria, NFF wishes him the best in his new assignment.
