NEDC installs solar lights in TSU, FUW, Teaching Hospital
OKERAFOR ATHANATIUS, JALINGO.
The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has installed solar lights at the Taraba State University (TSU), as well as some streets in Jalingo the State capital.
Other areas that benefited from NEDC’s gestures were the Federal University Wukari (FUW) and the university’s teaching hospital all in Wukari, the headquarters of Wukari Local Government Area of the State.
Our Correspondent who was part of the inspection tour of projects with the NEDC management team, gathered that the NEDC also installed another solar lights at Government Day Secondary School Bali in Bali local government area of the State.
In a remark, the Managing Director NEDC, Alhaji Goni Alkali who also doubled as the team leader said the job done was satisfactory.
According to Alkali, the Commission’s vision for the benefitting institutions was to supplement electricity supply by ensuring the illumination of those communities.
Our reporter also captured some projects supervised by the team as; NEDC warehouse in Jalingo, mass housing at the Federal Medical Center, Jalingo, three solar boreholes at FMC, Jalingo, and mass housing at the state Polytechnic, Jalingo.

Others according to our Correspondent are; Mega school project at Wukari, the ICT unit of the Federal University, Wukari, Mass Housing at Federal University Wukari, Federal University Wukari Teaching Hospital, Federal Government College Wukari and Government Secondary School Wukari among other projects.
Alkali however, called on the benefitting institutions and communities to ensure proper maintenance and safety of the projects.
