NEDC commences training of 200 teachers in Yobe South

The Northeast Development Commission (NEDC) in conjunction with the Yobe State Government has commenced training of another batch of teachers to enhance the education sector in the southern part of the state.
Mohammed Alkali, the Managing Director of NEDC, who was represented by Prof. Ali Ibrahim Abbas, the Yobe State Coordinator.
The training which was held at the Federal College of Education (Technical) Potiskum town, brought together 200 participants from across the various schools in the Zone.
NEDC said the one-week capacity-building workshop is on Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Agriculture (STEMA) and Effective Teaching and Learning pedagogies for school administrators, and teachers across the Yobe South Senatorial District of Yobe State.
The NEDC Managing Director said the objective is to equip educators with innovative strategies that promote problem-solving and practical learning in the classroom.
“We want to enhance teachers’ capacity towards impacting quality knowledge to our students and pupils as NEDC shall continue to complement the efforts of the State Government.” he said.
Also speaking, Professor Abba Idris Adam, the state Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, commended the NEDC’s initiative and encouraged the participants to embrace modern teaching tools that foster critical thinking, problem-solving and inclusiveness among educators and learners.
The Participants expressed appreciation for the initiative as the workshop being managed by Spider Network Consultancy Services continues throughout the week with a series of hands-on sessions and group discussions, aimed at transforming classroom instruction.
